The folks at CATC are always a joy to be with - music, food and fellowship are a winning combo. Besides our gospel music myriad,<em> Brotherhood</em> included a special Military Salute medley. In honor of Armed Forces Day, we had those who served in the various military branches, stand when their song was sung! The Men at Faith were treated with new arrangements of great gospel songs and current southern gospel tunes. As expected, they couldn't get enough of "Jesus You're So Wonderful" (the doo wop song) and raved about our version of "Mary Did You Know". Phones were busy taking photos and videos... The ministry concerts in Sanford and Orlando were wonderfully blessed; can't wait to return. Christians can have lots of fun & so do we as Brotherhood delivers the Word in song. You know, many will come to a concert before they darken a church doorway. We also enjoyed making new friends and re-connecting with others! </span></span></span></div>

Brotherhood's CD release concert), Thanksgiving is over and now it's time for Jesus' birthday! With all the hustle and bustle, everyone busy with parties, cooking, gifts nd family... let's not forget the true reason for the season.<br />
<br />
A humble, lowly birth for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords did draw the attention of those who believed a Messiah would soon be coming. The wise men travelled a great distance to get a glimpse of the Holy One and bring Him gifts. Without Jesus' birth, death and resurrection, our Christian faith would not exist.<br />
<br />
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy New Year. God bless and keep you always in His loving care. Brotherhood hopes to see you sometime, somewhere in 2019. We always enjoy meeting and making new friends!Jodapahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13140226507203816092noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1257472986468136487.post-48440351948153042742018-08-24T21:20:00.000-04:002018-09-05T21:21:45.126-04:00STUDIO WORK DONE!<div style="background-color: white; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Our studio work is done and Brotherhood is in post production mode; leaving it to the tech team for the master copy and then the packaged CD. It will be like Christmas when we are able to share the gift of God's music with you. Brotherhood always enjoy giving more, so expect 11 songs instead of the traditional 10!</span></div>

</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Can't wait to share these selections with you... live and in person. Keep watch for our upcoming concert dates. Have a blessed week!</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Well, it could also be considered "back in the saddle again" or "back home again". God has allowed</span><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><i style="font-size: small;">Brotherhood</i><span style="font-size: x-small;"> </span><span style="font-size: x-small;">to get back to the studio and work on a new CD project! Once again, we are blessed to work with producer, Tim Kelly, who makes it all happen (techno-wise).</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">I say that "tongue-in-cheek" because studio time has been a joy and fun to be part of. The hard work was pre-studio... the entire team worked/prayed to deliver our very best on each song selected. Sometimes we can be hard on ourselves because we want to give our very best. But, you know what, as we are bathed in prayer, the Lord will make our voices a "sweet, sweet sound in His ear". That's what it's all about. Never about us.... all about Him!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Continue to keep <i>Brotherhood</i> in your prayers. From my initial hear of playback sound bites... this CD will be awesome & our best yet! Can't wait for you to get a listen... but be patient. Good things come to those who wait.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Until next time... blessings.</span></div>

Two concerts on two sides of Orlando (east and west) was a wonderful way to celebrate God's goodness and give Him praise & worship. There's not enough room to tell it all but the presence of God was evident in both places. So good to see some Brotherhood "groupies", Gladys & Joyce, among other friends including The Smiths. Thanks, Wally Gilmour, for inviting us to be a part of Night of Worship at Church Alive, as well. Meeting new friends is also a great joy as Brotherhood ministers through their brand of southern gospel music. See you all soon!<br />

<div>
This past Monday, Edwin Hawkins went home to glory; he was 74 years old. If you know anything about gospel music, and maybe pop oldies, you definitely knew this music giant. He's a Grammy winning singer, songwriter who's known world wide for the gospel cross-over hit, "O Happy Day" with the Edwin Hawkins Singers. Edwin took a hymnal classic and changed it up in such a unique way that crossed musical, denominational and cultural lines.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
He was a pioneer of contemporary Christian music along with Andre Crouch, James Cleveland and others! In those early CCM days, I was personally encouraged and inspired in my young life at a needed point of time. Although Edwin is gone, he will not soon be forgotten.</div>

<span style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: medium;">Brotherhood had a wonderful,Christmas concert this past week at New Life COG. The folks really enjoyed the array of gospel music along with a mix of many Christmas carols and classics. A very special thanks to Kevin Dees for taking the lead spot on short notice! He did a great rendition of "Mary Did You Know?". And, the people did an excellent job of guessing those Christmas carols during "Name That Tune" Time, as well.</span></div>

of friends! <o:p></o:p></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Fall is fast approaching and then...
another year will have come to an end! It seems the older we get, the
days, weeks, etc. fly by so much faster than when we were younger. Well,
as they say, let's redeem the time that the Lord allows us. Continue to
persevere in ALL that we do - at work, at home and at play. I thank
the Lord that my valleys are short and my mountain tops are enjoyable and
memorable while I'm there. I realize that, as a Christian, I WILL be in either
place at any time and that He is with me ALL the time. What a comforting
promise God gives to us!<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">My latest <u>joy</u> comes
from my oldest grandson, Braden. He's a young teenager, loving,
full of energy, starting HS and all the issues with high and lows coming as a
teen boy in a new school. Since a toddler, his mom placed him in all sports
activities, teams, leagues, etc. Through it all, Braden has learned teamwork,
encouragement for others, the need to learn, nutrition, physical conditioning,
etc. Football is his first love and he has dedicated hours and hours of
practice, viewing games, memorizing plays for offense and defense (he's a 2-way
player). He recently played his last freshman team game which ended their
season at 5-3. At the final team meeting, the coach announced that some players
were being moved up to the varsity team. He read the 9 names... and Braden was
one of them!!!! At 14, that's quite an accomplishment for the rest of his HS
career. He was so thrilled and excited... and of course, I was so happy and
proud of him and for him. I can't explain it but it's similar to the joy you
get when a child is born or when they graduate.<o:p></o:p></span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Isn't that just like out heavenly
father who desires to give us good things. And, when he bestows
"gifts" upon us and we use them properly, don't you think He is a
proud Heavenly Father? I'm sure He smiles and adores His creation that gives
honor, love and respect back! And, that cycle keeps on going and going. It's a
definite win-win situation that we ALL should desire and pursue. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
</div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Wow... ain't that a good thing!!!
I guess the doxology is a fitting way to end right now ..."Praise God
from whom all blessings flow..."<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Until then... be blessed and be a

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A happy summer holiday
season to all! Just sharing some photos from Brotherhoods' recent concert at
Sanctuary Church of God in Orlando, FL. And, a quick story I know you'll
enjoy. Photos were provided by our new bass singer, Dennis Martin (the man
at the far right) and my cousin Ron Russo. I hadn't seen Ron is approx. 15
years, so this was a special treat for me. It was also great to see
our home church friends, John and Val... and Cliff Morales! Cliff
briefly sang with us during our inaugural year. And now for the story...</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Since our concert came
right after July 4th holiday, it was only fitting to include some patriotic
music and honor our veterans. We came equipped with some props that I've
saved - my fathers' Army shirt (still looks new) and and original Navy
P-coat. For those who don't know what that is, it's a very heavy winter,
double-breasted jacket. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">This one was given to me
when I was a teen and I wore it throughout high school and college during the
NYC winter seasons. Now, here's the rub... it belonged to my cousin Ron! I told
that story at the concert and then gave that P-coat back to him - after nearly
50 years!! He was quite surprised and grateful for that memento. As the picture
shows, the coat still fits him!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Now, back to the
concert... Brotherhood has a blast meeting new folks and sharing our brand/style
of southern gospel music - always something for everyone. We had them play
"Name That Tune" and all joined in singing "Mansion Over The
Hilltop". We also had special prayer break that was so evidently
needed for healings right in the middle of the concert.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<span style="font-size: small;">Trust and pray everyone's had a great spring celebrating Easter (Resurrection Sunday), Mother's Day, Father's Day (next week) and graduations. Summer is right around the corner and, believe it or not, half the year is already gone! Hey, don't shoot the messenger - it's true.</span><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;">The same can be said of those Biblical day messengers heralding Jesus Christ, the coming Messiah. Old testament prophets foretold of His soon appearance and was mocked, ridiculed and considered crazy lunatics. Why would Israels' deliverer come as a baby? They expected a strong, conquering king - a superhero! Well, our God knows what's best/better for us to understand once we embrace the loving Savior. Listen to the lyrics of "Who Would Imagine A King"... and don't shoot the messenger!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I guess you shouldn't shoot the messenger when he delivers other news, as well. After nearly 13 years without a change in personnel,<i>Brotherhood</i> bids farewell to our jovial bass man, Mel Hopkins. He and his wife, Barbara, have relocated/retired to the hills of North Carolina! At our "last supper" we remininced sweet moments of Brotherhood's ministry together - laughed and cried in the process. Me's was very light-hearted and full of the joy of the Lord. His gift was sharing with the children at our concerts in such a tender, grandpa/uncle way. He grabbed their attention so that the could easily grasp the gospel message he would share. Always encouraging, always crying, always Mel. We love him and will sorely miss him.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Change is good... so I've been told. Brotherhood now enters a new phase of ministry with the same purpose! We will continue as a trio or, Lord willing, as a new-look quartet. As you know, the Lord allows doors to open and close for our good. He also brings people into our lives for different purposes, as well. In the past year, Dennis Martin is one such person whom Brotherhood considers a dear friend. He's a fun loving, Godly man who does weekly outreach ministry and recently completed an Israel mission trip. </span><span style="font-size: small;">And, by the way, I learned that he sang bass in the choir, with The 4th Man Quartet... and loves southern gospel music! Hmm.....</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;">On occasion, Dennis has admirably filled in for Mel, so he's no stranger to us. We consider this a smooth transition and welcome Dennis to complete Brotherhood's roster, praise God! </span><span style="font-size: small;"><u>Attached are some "welcome photos" of Dennis, as well!</u> </span><span style="font-size: small;"> It's a big accomplishment, in short time, because filling a quartet need with the right person can be challenging. </span><i style="font-size: medium;">Brotherhood's</i><span style="font-size: small;"> unique sound, unity of spirit, along with mindset and focus to minister through music, resounds with this new 4-man team! We're excited and look forward to seeing you at a </span><em style="font-size: medium;">Brotherhood</em><span style="font-size: small;"> concert real soon. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica; font-size: 13.3333px;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Concert notes: More doors opening for Brotherhood this year! In July, we head back to Sanctuary Church of God in Orlando, FL after a long time absence - look for details shortly. We trust and pray for greater things that are still to come!</span></div>

<div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">Our God is an awesome, invinsible, loving God! We trust and pray that your year is going well as we move into the 2Q of 2017. Time keeps marching on no matter what we say or do. Our Lord controls everything and we just need to put our entire trust in His hands.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">After our January concert trip to Naples, FL, <em>Brotherhood </em>continued with God's work "back home". Our baritone/pianist, Dan and his wife, were back on the mission field the entire month of February. He's part of the translation team with the Jesus Film Project and travelled to the South Pacific region of the world. <em>Brotherhood</em> supports that ministry and, when you come to our concerts, pick up a free DVD copy of the Jesus Film Project.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">Phil, our lead singer, has been active with Campus Crusade For Christ (Cru). Every week, he visits the Full Sail University campus in Winter Park, FL distributing free chips, cookies, water, etc. At the same time, Phil has the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ one on one and there have been many prayers for salvation. In a 2- week period, there were 17 decisions made to accept Jesus Christ into their lives! According to Phil, that's "off the charts"! We give God all the glory.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: small;"></span><br /></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">Bass man Mel, has been super busy with preparing his home for sale. It's tough enough when you do spring cleaning, so imagine getting an entire house ready to vacate. He's updating our Facebook site with current photos, upcoming concert dates and information. Make sure to visit and be friends with us!</span></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">As for myself, this tenor man has been excessively busy at his "real job". During audit season, it not unusual to put in 50-60 hours per week to accomplish the task. It is understood & respected at the office that Sundays is not a day to work. Although the scriptures state in Genesis that it's a day of rest, I see it as a time of praise & worship to our Lord. Not that we shouldn't praise Him daily, but it's a carved-out day set aside for that purpose every week and gather with other believers. I thank God for the strength He gives to do my work, take time for my wife and family, write new music, make booking contacts, search/rehearse new material and minister with Brotherhood. Quite a busy schedule but oh so enjoyable.</span> </div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">Upon our return, the March concert date was at New Tribes Mission in Sanford, FL. They are a non-denominational organization that takes the gospel all around the work with their missionaries to church plant, disciple new believers and partner with other faith-based ministries. Brotherhood ministered to these dear folks that mainly consisted of seasoned missionaries & pastors (active and retired). We were honored to minister in music to them and they were so blessed with the mixture of old and new gospel songs. many lingered afterwards to talk about Brotherhood, evangelism and the Jesus Film Project. Dan even met some ministry friends from his home state of Nebraska. It was so good seeing some of our fans, too (Art and Eloise).</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div>
<span style="font-size: small;">We closed with "We Will Stand Our Ground" which spoke volumes to these people. We encouraged them to continue with this good work at New Tribes Mission as they evangelize the world. We know that no matter the circumstances or obstacles, His truth will keep marching on!</span></div>

November is that time of year for harvest and Thanksgiving holiday with family & friends. Let's not wait for special times to thank those around us and especially offer thanks to our heavenly Father. May we daily give heartfelt praise and sincere thanks to Him for all His provisions. Thank you Lord for giving! Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, as the sacrificial Lamb for us all. Thank you for America, the land of freedom we can take so likely at times. Thank you for our families, a place to worship, our jobs, our homes, plentiful food, etc. etc. Brotherhood is so grateful for ALL He's ever done for us and allowed us to do. He is always foremost in our concert ministries and our Oct./Nov events have been precious. </div>
<div style="color: black;">
</div>
<div style="color: black;">
We were the special musical guests for a widows/widowers banquet at Central Baptist Church in Sanford. I've known churches to hold a wide variety of special occasions, but this was was a first for me! We considered it an honor and privilege to be part of remembering/honoring these folks. My mom was part of that category, so I could relate to their situations. Brotherhood had a grand old time bringing back some "oldies but goodies" that connected so well with them. Looking forward to a return visit!</div>
<div style="color: black;">
</div>
<div style="color: black;">
Got to see some fans at our Night of Worship min-concert at Church Alive, as well. This monthly event provides a wide variety and styles of gospel music. It includes current contemporary, well-known P&W songs, old hymnal favorites and "stump the piano player" requests. Brotherhood entwined a variety of these samples in our playlist set. It never fails that our doo-wop song, "Jesus You're So Wonderful", was enthusiastically received. Some of the guys wearing sunglasses added to the "reflective mood" created. Who says you can't have fun in church?</div>
<div style="color: black;">
</div>
<div style="color: black;">
Well, time to close and wish everyone a blessed Happy Thanksgiving. Continue to pray for our country as we are in transition. And remember this... "Prayers don't expire".</div>
<div style="color: black;">
</div>
<div style="color: black;">
See you down the road!!!</div>
Jodapahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13140226507203816092noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1257472986468136487.post-65704927565784122472016-10-07T17:14:00.003-04:002016-10-07T17:16:34.922-04:00EXTENDED NY FRIENDS & FAMILY<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
We pray that everyone in FL is safe and sound during the recent hurricane. Just received a few more photos from Brotherhood's recent NYC weekend tour. They were from Sunday PM concert at Ossining Assembly which is a short distance north of the NYC limits. I guess you could say it's the extreme suburbs and moving towards beautiful country living. The church sanctuary had some remodeling and looked great. Some of the guests included John's cousin (photo below) whose ex-military husband recently passed away. Also, Brotherhood's oldest fan, Sis. Petrina, who is 104 years old was there and I had to take a photo with her! She was accompanied by her daughter Frances whom John has known since their church youth days (still remember her 16th birthday party). </div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
Despite the unusual heavy traffic on a Sunday, we arrived later than expected but did not let that hinder nor dampen a wonderful evening of gospel music ministry. These dear folks were so gracious and patiently waited for us arrive - it didn't matter. It was great to see, young and old, rejoice and sing praises to the Lord! They joined right in with songs they knew such as "Mansion Over The Hilltop", "How Great Is Our God" and "Through It All". And when we sang a fan favorite, "Roll Away", we discovered that some young ladies had created an accompaniment routine! Sitting in one row, this crew had motions to go with the chorus echo they provided - good job!! We enjoy it so much when everyone can participate and have fun in church. It's a win-win and encourages Brotherhood to give their very best.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
It was a special night that ended our tour. In all churches, we witnessed the sweet spirit of God among His people who came expecting and received salvation, refreshing, renewal, rededication and calls into ministry. And His people include the pastors and staff who constantly give but also need to receive. These NY churches are reaching their communities through love and meeting their needs where they are.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
As we always say, it's all for the kingdom and God's glory - lest any man should boast. Our prayer should always be that they see more of Him and less of me. God continues to open doors for Brotherhood and we appreciate your prayerful support. We look forward to seeing you "down the road" sometime real soon.</div>

We had a tremendous weekend tour in the NYC/NJ area starting out with a Friday PM casual concert in Bronx, NY (my hometown). The 4 church concerts in 3 days was truly a blessed time to minister to pastors and their congregation.</span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
Bronx Christian Assembly hosted the Friday evening concert which is typically youth emphasized and ministry outreach - what a great event to be part of! Every Friday, the church feeds the needy in their community. Brotherhood was part of that time, singing a few accapella songs and John provided a brief share/testimony before the meal was served. Dan, Mel, Phil and I all had time to speak with these guests as they ate and many stayed for the concert, praise God! </div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
The concert was wonderful and blessed - full of a variety of gospel music enjoyed by all. By special request, we had to insert a few "oldies" that they all joined in. They sang and clapped along with "Give It Away" and "Roll Away" quite loud and energetic! Phil gave a brief but pointed message followed by altar work which saw many come forward for salvation, rededication, healing and calls to ministry! It was God's perfect timing; we did not know that Sunday was Water Baptism at that church. Getting hugs from the "little ones" was a precious moment and seeing old friends including my youth buddy, David, who took photos.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
More news to come - blessings!!</div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Brotherhood had a
blessed time at last month's concert at Church at The Cross. Glad to make new
friends and reacquaint ourselves with some long- time friends (Linda, Nelson,
etc.). So good to see a bunch of churches gather for these gospel concerts
and enjoy "our brand" of southern gospel harmony! New material
was appreciated and well received and the classics are always a hit. We can't
seem to shake them off but that's OK with us - we love them too! And, with Mel
"back to the mountains", I secured the services of a good friend
(Dennis) to fill in as bass singer. He did a great job with just a few
rehearsals under his belt - thanks a bunch!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Hey, it's summer and
time for holidays, vacations and time to enjoy God's beautiful creation. In the
process, make sure you take the time to count your blessings - one by one.
Remember those great songs about blessings? "Blessed Assurance",
"Count Your Blessings", "Blessings", "Greatly Blessed,
Highly Favored" and "Showers Of Blessings"?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">"I am blessed
beyond measure" are wonderful and accurate lyrics from the chart topping
song "Blessed" by Karen Peck and New River. Our God has blessed
us way beyond our deepest comprehension but think about those things we take
for granted. Good health, loving family, steady jobs, caring friends, a warm
home, food on the table, etc. and the freedom to enjoy it all living in
America!<br />
May we always be grateful for the "little things" so we truly
appreciate the added blessings the Lord bestows upon His children. When you
stop and take count of every single blessing you have received from God, just
give Him all the thanks and praise. And it will be like Happy Thanksgiving all
the time. At the same, take a moment every day to pray for America which
seems to be spinning more and more out of control. In the past month in various
cities we have seen so many acts of violence/accidents where
innocent people hurt or dead. It's hard to grasp the actions but understand
that it's all part of the prophesied end times. But God's not finished with His
work so we must continue on - trusting God no matter
what and keep the faith ("lean not to our own
understanding").<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">Well that's it for now.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer like I am. Took some vacation time alone with
my wife and then all my family came into town to celebrate our daughters'
birthday. We thank God for those little bundles of joy that have become adults!
Hope to see you "down the road" at a future Brotherhood concert!<span style="font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: white; color: black; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Well... how is everyone doing? It's been some time since Brotherhood's last share but that happens sometimes. Circumstances, holidays, family and other priorities (so we say) surface that derail us from the important things we should take care of. So, let's get started to get you all updated with Brotherhood's news & views!! We'll use numbers this time...</span></div>
<div style="color: black;">
<ol><span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">During the holidays, Dan (baritone/keyboard) took another mission project trip to translate the Jesus Film into the nation's native tongue. I don't remember where but he and his wife have been to Papa New Guinea, Africa and other countries that need to hear the gospel.</span></li>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span></span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Mel, our bass man, took some time off and was injured in the process - accidents will happen! He fractured his arm and, while recuperating/ rehabilitating, injured his foot. Praise God, none required surgery but lots of tender loving care! It also gave Mel time to grow his beard even longer.</span></li>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span></span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Phil (lead singer) has been back to adding material to his book on evangelism and tending to the congregational "flock".</span></li>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span></span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">John (tenor/mgr.) has been swamped at work with a multitude of audit prep work Jan - March. Not much time for family and other activities - but able to make some time for rehearsals. Since he's been back on a normal schedule, John has been writing some new songs (or parts of them). As the Lord gives inspiration, John will typically jump out of bed, grab a pen & paper and dash to the keyboard. The ground work is then laid, and with melody and lyrics done, he can return to sleep!</span></li>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-size: small;">Brotherhood provided a short mini-concert at Church Alive in March that preceded the Sunday message.</span> </span></li>
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">
</span>
</span>
</span>
<li><span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: small;">Plans are under way for a very special CD ... the best of Brotherhood! It will be include members choice selections and fan favorites over the past 12 years.</span></li>
</ol>
</div>
<span style="background-color: white;">
</span>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Now, you're all caught up!!! A lot has happened... and lots more happening, Lord willing.</span></div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We miss you and hope to see you "down the road" at one of our concerts. Remember to keep Brotherhood in your prayers as we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and endeavor to advance His kingdom. In the meantime - stay safe, be blessed... and be a blessing!</span></div>

<span style="color: #444444;">It's that time of year again when the holidays just seem to roll together. First it's Halloween (my birthday) followed by Thanksgiving and, right on its' heals, Christmas arrives and the year has ended! It's become so commercial that retailers are all trying to get the advantage or edge on their competitors. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">I prefer to take things in stride and not rush everything. This is a time to not share about Brotherhood but, right now, it's time to focus on Thanksgiving. Not the parades, not the food, not the family gatherings... but rather take sufficient time to give thanks to the Lord! Thank Him for health, you career the bountiful provisions, a good family and the freedom that we all share (and take for granted) by living in America!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">Try "giving forward". It's been recently done in a big way. A mother went grocery shopping and her credit card was declined or did not work, She didn't have any cash and would take too much time to go home & start all over. A gentleman, who was next in line, paid her +$200 bill without wanting any repayment. He just told her to "pay it forward" ... or do it for someone else in need.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">The mother was so grateful that she wanted to show her gratitude in some way. A phone call to him would be nice but, knowing he worked at the nearby gym, she wanted to tell his boss what a great employee he was. The boss was overwhelmed but had to tell the mother some sad news. That kind man was killed in an auto accident the day after he had paid her bill! The mother decided to honor him with a special Facebook memorial that has gathered more than 10,000 friends and growing. Now that's thanksgiving - true to life! </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">Thanksgiving is not only one day a year... but every day be thankful to God. He has done GREAT things!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">Remember... be blessed and be a blessing.</span></div>

<span style="color: #444444;">Brotherhood's schedule has been hectic... but oh so good!!! After returning from NYC, we had October concert ministries that continued where we left off. We were at Geneva Methodist and Space Coast Assembly where we met new friends and became re-aquainted with others. What a wonderful time Brotherhood had with such fine folks who appreciated our new material like "I Want To Be That Man" and "We Will Stand our Ground" and just loved the classics such as "The Lighthouse", "I'll Fly Away" and "Through It All". Space Coast was a unique day - we ministered to the seniors in the AM meeting and then returned for a full concert in the evening service!! </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica;">
<span style="color: #444444;">What we also enjoyed was speaking with the people afterwards, sharing testimonies, having individual prayer & fellowship. One gentleman commented, "I really enjoy your spirit & can't wait for you guys to come back again!" That means a lot and pretty much says it all. If Brotherhood doesn't work in unity & under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, then we are "like clinking brass". We endeavor the always honor the King and sing unto Him who allows us tu use whatever meager gifts we have to offer. May our God receive it as "sweet, sweet sounds to His ears." </span></div>

<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As fall sets in, Brotherhood's schedule gets busier and busier. Fall is typically the start of an annual life cycles' end - just before winter. Brotherhood sees it a little bit differently. It's the best time to bring the gospel message in song since everyone is back from vacations, settled back at churches and home before the holidays roll around. Our schedule will take us to some new places and new faces that I'll share about briefly.<br /><br />Before leaving for our NY/NJ tour, we had a great kick-off concert at Longwood Community Church of God. It was a "warm up" for what was to come in NYC and enabled us to test new material locally. We met new folks and old friends who enjoyed and were blessed by our unique blend and presentation of the Word in song - our brand of gospel music. One dear friend was so glad that we bring back the classics that have been forgotten or seldom sung such as "The Lighthouse" and "How Great Thou Art".</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Brotherhood was very anxious to return to our friends and family "up north". And what a time we had!!! It has always been a destination we thoroughly enjoy - ministry, fellowship, food, friends, etc. But this tour was memorable and will be cherished for a long time.<br /><br />Besides our 4 concerts in 3 days, Brotherhood was able to provide evangelism training (led by Phil) Saturday morning and then "hit the streets" right afterwards in Coney Island (Brooklyn). Their pastor was quite pleased by those who came for training from the church (13). He didn't even have a sign up sheet so he had no expectation level. I believe the one hour spent at the projects netted 10-12 new believers and rededications. Praise God for those who are taking an outreach approach to winning souls to Jesus Christ. If the people don't come to you or your church - you go to them!<br /><br />Besides singing, each Brotherhood member had an opportunity to share the gospel message. John on Saturday night, Dan on Sunday night and Phil on Friday night & Sunday morning. Mel, our bass, shared with the children on Sunday morning in the Bronx. He has a soft, tender heart and can effectively speak to kids. With tears flowing, he shared a personal story when he was a youngster that really ministered to them.<br /><br />While praying and preparing song selections for the 4 churches, John felt led to change things up a bit and break right after singing "Healer" for an altar call for healing. That's not done at regular gospel concerts but again, Brotherhood is eclectic and unique.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In Brooklyn (Coney Is.), the pastor asked if we could do an evangelism training on Saturday AM. That's Phil's "hot button"/ passion, so he led a training session & then took teams to the local projects (low income housing). We had a splendid time with divine encounters producing approx. 10 people making decisions for Christ or re-dedications. The church will do follow up work, too. P.S. So good to see Aldo after so many years.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On Saturday night, we returned to Nutley, New Jersey after a few years absence and was rewarding in many ways. the genuine love we shared in word and song was just what the people needed and was so rewarding in many ways. many were hearing Brotherhood for the first time & I believe the pastor was equally encouraged. At altar call, it was the first time we ever heard a request "to be a better husband" - amen to that!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Sunday morning in the Bronx was special to John because it's always a homecoming celebration. That's where he was born & raised with many precious memories around the altar, choir, Christmas programs, Sunday School, youth, etc. It's where he received Christ and was baptized in water. Quite an overwhelming, joyful sight to see church growth & leadership taken by young couples and their children. My close friend's grandson now sings on the praise team - led by his mother!! I think we're getting older! It was fun having Vinnie, their bass player, join Brotherhood on "Mansion Over he Hilltop".</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Can't forget the great fellowship & Italian food that many folks prepared - what "northern hospitality" - praise God!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Our final stop was at Ossining in Westchester County (just north of New York City) and that was a blessed event. We reacquainted with pastor, family and friends who thoroughly enjoyed our brand of gospel music. Dan brought a challenging message, as well. Again, altar time was special & John had the opportunity to pray with some old friends from the Bronx (they're all over the place!). One is a 103 year old who sat in the SS class taught by John's mother! Sis. Panzitta is still going strong and looks wonderful.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We look forward to hearing great things form the NY/NJ area. the people are hungry for the word and it's not as dark as you think. In fact, keep revival in America in your prayers!!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #444444;"><span style="background-color: white;"></span><span style="background-color: white;"></span><span style="background-color: white;"></span><span style="background-color: white;"></span><span style="background-color: white;"></span><span style="background-color: white;"></span></span><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="background-color: white;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Remember... be blessed and be a blessing.</span></div>
